Small Town Girl
by Bozena Helena Mazur-Nowak
She was choking in her own world,
a girl from a small town.
She runs away, got on the train
driving straight ahead into the unknown.
She was attracted by the neon lights of a large city,
a crowd of strangers around.
Shadows that search the dark,
street people living their own lives and
hiding in the dark of night.
Someone wins and someone loses,
this is a never-ending story.
The movie of life still goes on.
The small-town girl
blended into the street crowd.
She walks like a believer,
that trustees find happiness,
someone accidentally dropped off.
