Poem
ISOLATION
By Zararia Yul
Though life is hard and merciless
and loneliness rises like a mountain peak -
a little consolation is we're not alone...
millions of us wander through this earth.
Things go wrong then we fall apart,
all alone we're sucked into the dark -
help disappears like waves in the ocean...
light and hope becomes a setting sun.
Fear and terror grow larger than life,
there's nowhere to run and nowhere to hide -
friends seem to vanish like mist in the sun...
a heavy heart drags us down to the ground.
With no one to share our heavy load,
isolation feasts on our broken soul -
desperation hangs like heavy dark clouds...
as we shrink away and hide in the dark.
Here we will die unless we fight back,
break free from the darkness back into the light -
finding a mission that's worthy and pure...
firmly shutting the door, on our way out.
